Nominet Proforma Invoice

Holders of .uk domains may receive invoices from Nominet for domain names. The price is typically GBP 80.00 + VAT per domain. Nominet is the offical body for domain registration. Normally Firstserv will renew the domain for you and will invoice you at a much reduced rate, so there is no need to pay Nominet. Check that the TAG holder is FIRSTSERV - see Nominet invoice.

What information do I need to register a domain?

What is Firstserv's IPS tag?

The IPS tag is used for transferring .uk domains. Our Nominet tag is: FIRSTSERV

How do I transfer a domain to Firstserv?

All transfer requests must be made in writing by email, fax or letter. The exact procedure depends on the name, as below:

.uk domains

If the name is a .co.uk domain, then you must ask your current ISP to release the domain to the tag: FIRSTSERV. They will send notification to Nominet who will re-assign the domain. Once the tag has changed, we will be able to change nameservers for you.

.com/ net/ org/ biz/ info domains

The procedure is set by ICANN and can take several days to complete.

First you need to obtain your auth-code. This is a password which is provided by your existing domain registrar.

Once the auth-code is obtained, Firstserv will be able to initiate the transfer procedure.

The admin contact for the domain will receive an email asking for their agreement to the transfer. The instructions should be followed to allow the transfer to happen. If no action is made within 5 days, then the domain will not be transferred and the transfer request will lapse. A new transfer request will need to be made.

Once the transfer has been successfully made, Firstserv will be notified by the Registrar.

What are Firstserv's nameservers?

  • ns0.firstserv.co.uk 80.79.143.29
  • ns1.firstserv.co.uk 80.79.132.10

What are Firstserv's handles?

  • FB978-ORG

For other handles (e.g. Joker) Please call.

I need to transfer my domain from Firstserv

There is no charge to transfer your domain.

The domain owner must send a fax or letter to the Domain manager at Firstserv on +44 (0)20 7536 7940 stating that he wishes to release the domain to a new ISP.

For .uk domains, please let us know the new IPS tag for the domain.

For .com domains, we will be able to provide the auth-code for the domain which will allow your new ISP to initiate the transfer process.
